Hello there, friend. Thanks for stopping by.

I’m Jane Carr, author of The Woolly Wordsmith. I have been creating fiber arts since I was a child. Recently, at the ripe old age of 26, I reignited my love for knitting, crochet, and embroidery. I was inspired by so many people online who showed me that making garments was cool, and for that I am thankful. Hopefully, I can be that for someone one day. I’m here to share my journey, right from my very first pair of socks.

I’m not going to lie, I do have favourites. Kitting is my preferred fiber art, with crochet and embroidery coming in behind that. I still enjoy them, of course, I just prefer knitting to everything else. I find it to be the most satisfying because it’s the most challenging for me.

I live in Australia, I work full-time and study part-time. Aside from fiber arts, I love reading, collecting and drinking tea, and rock climbing. I’m currently on a journey to live more sustainably, prompting the desire to make my own clothes. I have so many dreams and goals, I couldn’t possibly share them all here.
